Hunter Biden Associate Testified That Hunter Sold More Than 'Illusion of Access,' Transcript Reveals
Democratic representative Dan Goldman from New York revealed that during questioning, Devon Archer testified that Hunter Biden was not actually selling access to his father, Joe Biden, but rather the perception of access. A transcript confirms that the phrase came from Goldman's questioning and not from Archer's actual testimony.
Goldman asked Archer, who served on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings alongside Hunter Biden, if it was fair to say that Hunter was selling the illusion of access to his father. Archer responded that the phrase was "almost fair," acknowledging some communication but denying any material discussions.
Despite this, the mainstream media widely reported on Goldman's characterization, attributing the "illusion of access" statement to Archer's testimony after the interview.
However, after the release of the transcript, CBS News admitted that it was Goldman, not Archer, who used the phrase "illusion of access" during questioning.
In a separate interview, Archer disclosed that Joe Biden had sent him a letter in 2011, contrary to the president's previous claims of not discussing his son's business dealings. The letter from Biden addressed Archer and mentioned seeing him with Hunter, displaying a connection to the Biden family's business endeavors.
During his testimony before the House Oversight Committee, Archer also claimed that Hunter Biden called his father more than 20 times during business meetings, attempting to leverage the Biden family's name for business purposes.
