Hunter Finally Appears in Child Support Case, Judge Blasts Him for Concealing Income

Hunter Biden attended a court hearing in Arkansas on Monday to request a reduction in his child support payments. However, the judge criticized his legal team for their lack of transparency and for concealing details that had already been submitted to the court as part of the ongoing legal case.

The judge also ordered Hunter's attorneys to refile some of the redacted papers. It is unclear what financial information was included in the filings. Hunter appeared in court seeking to reduce his monthly payments for the 4-year-old daughter he fathered with Lunden Roberts, his ex-girlfriend.

Lunden Roberts' attorney filed a 12-page discovery motion last week, accusing Hunter of putting on an act by claiming to be financially destitute and in need of a child support adjustment. The attorney pointed out that Hunter lives lavishly and travels the world on Air Force One, despite being an artist living on meager means. The judge wants to know the actual value of Hunter's art but was frustrated by his team's lack of transparency. She ordered Hunter to answer additional written questions about his money, including investments, art sales, and other financial transactions.

Hunter's attorneys argued that he did not know the identities of the buyers of his art as part of a purported arrangement to ensure they were unable to influence his father's administration. They said that someone else might know but not Hunter himself. The judge informed Roberts' attorney that he could issue a subpoena to force the gallery to divulge the names of buyers and prices of the art. She found it "incredible" that there was no estimate of valuations. Hunter and Roberts will be required to sit for a deposition in mid-June to answer questions under oath.

The battle between Hunter and Roberts began in 2019 when Roberts claimed she was pregnant with Hunter's child. Hunter initially denied it, but a paternity test proved him wrong. Now, he is on the hook for child support payments totaling $720,000 a year unless he can convince the judge to lower them. He has never met his youngest daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, who is four years old.
