Mysterious Chinese Bio-Lab Discovered In Remote California City
Why is there a bio-lab operated by a questionable Chinese company in Reedley, CA, located in the central San Joaquin Valley?
Originally, the building was meant for storage but turned out to house an underground lab for testing, resembling a black-market operation.
The discovery was made when a local code enforcement officer noticed a garden hose protruding from the building's back wall, as reported by YourCentralValley.com.
The lab contained various samples of bodily fluids and serums, including blood and tissue, along with numerous vials of unlabeled fluids and suspected biological materials.
Furthermore, inside the lab, there were 900 genetically engineered mice, created to contract and spread COVID-19, living in deplorable conditions. As a result, 773 of these mice had to be put down, and another 178 were already dead.
City and county officials were shocked by this unprecedented situation, with Reedley City Manager Nicole Zieba and Assistant Director of the Fresno County Department of Public Health Joe Prado expressing their disbelief.
Subsequent testing by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed that the lab contained at least 20 potentially infectious agents, such as coronavirus, HIV, hepatitis, and herpes.
The investigation also found numerous package boxes with shipping labels from China. The tenant was identified as Prestige BioTech, an unlicensed Nevada-based company, as per NBC News.
Xiuquin Yao, the supposed president of Prestige BioTech, claimed that the lab's assets were transferred from a defunct company named Universal Meditech Inc. Officials could not locate any California addresses for either company, except for the previous Fresno location where UMI had been evicted.
Given the seriousness of the situation, questions are raised about whether this is just the beginning, and if there might be more bio-agent labs waiting to be discovered.
This fortunate find occurred when Reedley city code enforcement officers stumbled upon the lab while investigating the garden hose connection to the building.
It is crucial that the investigation into this illegal Chinese bio-agent lab be handled at the highest levels of US law enforcement to formulate a comprehensive plan for safeguarding US national security.
